    I hate vegetables.

I dont know why, but i couldnt force myself to eat veggies if my life depended on it. I eat potatoes, but im talkin about the other stuff like brocolli, cucuumbers, or anything that goes in a salad pretty much. I eat pretty healthy otherwise. Can I get by w/o eatin veggies or should i should i just man the **** up and force them down lol?

make sure your taking a multi vitamin and also man up. there is a gene that some carry and some dont that gives us a higher sensitivity to the taste of vegetables and there are these papers that you can do a simple lick test on but i dont know where to get them because my girlfriend got them from her college bio class. when you lick them if you have the gene for it then the paper will taste pretty disgusting otherwise itll just taste like paper if you dont have it and i definitely do. i actually forced myself to like broccoli and salad and such. man up and just eat the basics. broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, lettuce. i still cant relly stand everything else but i force myself to eat it so its whatever. nothing you can really do about it. veggies is good for your digestive system though so thats probably why i do force myself to eat it. no supplement can really replace on matter how much nutrient content the supplement has. veggies are veggies.

You shouldn't force yourself to eat anything you do not like. Eat lots of fruit including kiwi and avacados! There must be some veg you like, such as spinach, carrots or the universally loved peas. Stick up on the ones you do like.

Vegetables are gr8 if you keep it simple. Low calories, no fat, low carbs. I just stock up on the cheapass cans of veggies from Giant Eagle. They make for a quick meal in between workouts that don't fill you up, but provides some good energy.

            Don't eat them.

            vegetables aren't particularly important.

            Here's how eating works -
you need macronutrients and micronutrients, macronutrients forming the foundation of your diet.

There's only 3 macros so they're easy to remember. Fat, carbs, and protein. You need to get these macros in roughly a certain proportion, that being about half carbs, 35 percent proteins and 15 percent fat. That's by gram, or weight, they have different calorie contents per weight so the percentages change to about 30 percent fat, 20 percent protein and 50 percent carbs if you go by calorie. Normal people need about 2000 calories, athletes need significantly more. Remember michael phelps? He eats 10000 calories a day, and as an athlete that didn't impress me at all. Hopefully you'll notice immediately that you need a lot more fat than most dumb**** diet gurus, and especially dumb**** "cutting weight" boxing diet gurus recommend. These are basic macronutrients, this is stuff you NEED.

As for micronutrients, those are vitamins and minerals and whatnot. You produce some on your own, some you don't produce supposedly and need to eat. This stuff is essential, but obviously not as important as the macronutrients. Also, provided you eat the macronutrients in a normal way, you'll probably get this stuff.

These are the basics of the basics. This stuff is more basic than the food pyramid, and the food pyramid is sufficiently complicated that you could follow it and easily not eat remotely well.

You'll notice that vegetables don't have much of any of the macronutrients. What they're mostly good for is micronutrients, which you don't need much of anyway, and fiber, which simply aids in digestion. I'd recommend eating them, but they just aren't part of the fundamentals.

One last thing - diet experts will tell you that all carbs end up the same, so bread is the same as pasta or whatever, protein is protein so all kinds of meat are the same. This is nonsense. I can't tell you the science behind it, but quality matters. Beef tends to be the highest quality protein, better than chicken or pork or fish. Pasta tends to be low quality, potatoes tend to be high quality. Michael Jordan ate steak and potatoes before every game, that should tell you something.

The three macronutrients are fundamental, I'd also suggest creating a simpler food pyramid with meat, dairy, fruits/veggies, and grain to start out, as these seem to me to be particularly fundamental. Four groups is easier to remember. Try to get something from each of those groups, and try to eat complete meals so you can be at full energy. I'd also specifically recommend beef and potatoes in some form, it can be a burger and fries as long as it's not from a fast food value menu.

This is where I'm at with my diet, I may add some essentials if I find they improve my workouts, maybe rice, or beans, or pizza or something. In the end that's your best tool, and probably how a lot of this stuff was discovered. If you have a good workout, remember what you ate. If you have a bad one, also remember. If you go in and just hitting a bag seems to jar your head, you probably need to eat something.

Also, check out your favorite fighters diets. You'll find that most eat beef, george foreman ate cheeseburgers and ice cream, and other than that the only trend I've noticed is that both jack dempsey and sonny liston ate almost the exact same thing, that being steak, baked potato, salad and cheesecake. That's close to what I eat, though I prefer some variations on those foods.

Remember, eating is like HALF of fighting. It's enormously important, so don't be afraid to take it seriously, but that doesn't mean eating "health" food!

One last suggestion, if you want to eat them, sticking raw onion, a slice of tomato, and a piece of lettuce on a burger probably won't upset you too much. If you're more enthusiastic than that, I've heard of people blending a salad and gulping it down.

i used to HATE vegetables growing up...then one day when i started to really care about my health i knew i had to man up....i know carrots are some of the best but i could never stand eating them raw(hard), so i just boil baby carrots in water untill their semi-soft and dip them in peanut butter...the peanut butter really masks that nasty taste well.

on another note, what do yall think about V8 juice? I drink a lot of the reduced sodium cans since they're easy to take with you and quick to consume.
