On a side note though, is this just some random friend? Or a friend that boxes? If he boxes, it sounds like you are asking us how to beat someone who is bigger and better than you, which can be difficult to explain.
If he doesnt box, rush his ass. Everyone tries to box people who dont box, just overwhelm them, its so freaking easy, their mind turns to defense after 2 seconds.
edit: As for actual advice though, if he keeps throwing that right hand, and you are both orthadox, a jab to the body, keeping back, jab to the body, stay quick, and jab to the body overhand right. This has worked more often than not against those big right hand guys, the jab to the body protects your head rather well.Last edited by Double Jab; 03-18-2010, 11:59 AM.

Yeah really take advantage of your speed. Speed kills. He will think twice before throwing because you can hit him before his punch will land.

Erm if it you were just sparring how come you still remember the loss after several years? How come you didn't spar him in between the years?
Did you quit boxing over those years, did he quit?
________
Anyway I would try and time him with the jab then circle him if you can keep him off balance the punches that do get through will lose some sting.
