NEW YORK — Claressa Shields may just be starting out her training camp, but the hard work is already underway for the unbeaten “GWOAT.”

Shields, 16-0 (3 KOs), hosted a media workout Tuesday at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, New York, where she will hold part of her training camp ahead of her first defense of the heavyweight championship on July 26 against New Zealander Lani Daniels at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

The Flint, Michigan native Shields showed off her boxing skills on the pads with assistant trainer Don Saxby, who is working alongside head trainer John David Jackson for the second straight fight. Shields shadowboxed alongside former pro Ronica Jeffrey, then did three rounds on the pads, followed by some jump rope and a couple rounds on speed bag with her boyfriend/rapper Papoose.

Daniels, 11-2-2 (1 KO), of Pipiwai, New Zealand is in her second reign as IBF light heavyweight champion and will be making her United States debut against Shields.

The card will air live on DAZN.
