What are some good boxing books?

can someone recommend a good book?

"Ringside" by Budd Schulberg. Great book because you don't have to read it in order. You can jump around and read parts that interest you or if you have time constraints it has small chapters. Everything from boxing in the 19th century to Gatti, De La Hoya, Ali, Roy Jones, Trinidad, and Roberto Duran. Awesome, awesome book. A must read.

Depends what you are interested in. I've recently read "unforgivable blackness" the story about Jack Johnson. I've also read "Raging Bull", Joe Louis' autobiography and am about to start Larry Holmes' autobiography. All were good books in my opinion. But if you want a book that will make you think to yourself "holy ****!", get "Don King: his life and crimes". That was an excellent book.

Also read anything about Ali. In my opinion he has one of the most interesting and robust stories of anyone, not just boxers.

I've got Thomas Hauser's book on Ali, which is supposed to be very good, yet I haven't read it yet. For more boxing books at ridiculously low prices check out this link. Books are in good shape too.

What a ****head! Rates gayboy Tarver who got beaten like a ***** by an Old B-Hop.Roy annihilated Hopkins in 1993. Everyone knows Roy was shot after the Ruiz fight but still kicked the ugly alieans arse in the first fight! Got no time for ******ed and misinformed fight fans. Beating the man doesn;t mnake you the man. Roy is an ATG and Tarver was just an also ran who got spanked by a true legend!

IMO, Hauser's book is the definitive book on Ali. Pound for Pound, Ray Robinson's book is a great read as well, though a bit biased, imo. Teddy Atlas' book is not too bad either, though he makes himself out to be almost Superman. I just got Micky Wards' book and I cant wait to start reading it, as he's my all time favorite fighter. Duran's Hands of Stone is an all time great autobiography on a boxer, up there with Hauser's Ali. Cinderella Man by Jeremy Schapp is also good; it's a great accompanyment to the film. I'm sure I've read more, but my books are still in storage right now. But off the top of my head, these are some good ones. I guess it all depends on your preference. I understand there will be a definitive biography of Tyson coming soon...looking forward to that.
