    Frazier vs Louis

Frazier that fought Ali in the first fight vs Prime Louis

Frazier is 204 lbs, Louis prime weight (198-200?)

Can Louis handle Frazier's 15 round non stop barrage. How is Louis' defense against the left hook?

Or can Frazier handle the brown bombers bombs to the face.

    let's hear it

Louis' flaw was that he was susceptible to rights for the most part. Fighting Frazier he would be accutley aware of the left. Frazier would probably send him to the canvas at least once, but Louis power and pin point accuracy would rule the fight. I don't think Joe ever fought anyone with Louis' two handed power and ability to finsh. Sooner or later, Frazier, with his come forward stlye, would get caught. Louis in 8. Jmo.

I could see either one of them winning the fight but going at Joe Louis was not the best way to fight him, which is what Frazier would have done, he would have gone at Louis with everything he had, I think Louis' shorter, more compact shots and superior timing would get Frazier eventually. It would have been a great fight as long as it goes, wouldn't have surprised me if Frazier knocked Louis down early either.

Didn't Louis once say he hated fighting pressure fighters?

He didn't like to be crowded, but who really does when you are a boxer?
Maybe Frazier but he wasn't the traditional "boxer" type

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you can't fight it.
I don't think fighters like to be hit either but they take it and fight it.

I hear a lot of people talk about the same thing for a Prime vs. Prime matchup between Rocky and Louis and they bring the same thing up, but they forget that Rocky also said he needed "room" to release his bombs. Give Louis room and you are going to have a hell coming at you. And if you don't give him room, after he figures you out by seeing your style, he will adjust (at least in the rematch).

Louis had to learn how to deal with it and he did.

Here are two examples and pay attention to the adjustment:

          {Also remember what punch(es) Frazier was vulnerable to}

I'd pick Louis in a rematch but I see Frazier's crowding pressure style surprising Louis in the first fight and he would end up losing a decision.

Louis said that he had one weakness throughout his career and it was not boxers or movers but being crowded.

              That's quite possible.

Louis by kayo. He had a lot of trouble avoiding right hands, but Frazier didn't have much of a right.

Remember Prime Frazier took everything Ali threw at him + more. He also got up from punches thrown by Bonavena and didn't break a sweat.

Something to think about. and the fact that Louis didn't like being crowded. Is this a bad style match up for Louis?

A constant swarmer and aggressor like Frazier is a horrible style matchup for Louis.

It would be quite an interesting fight to watch unfold, due to that, along with, as already pointed out, Louis' acute awareness of the left. If he could manage to take away Frazier's left, it would be an easy win for Louis.

But I doubt he could manage to do that consistently for 45 minutes of a 15 round fight. Sooner or later, Frazier would start landing it. And I'm not sure Louis would be able to take that type of punishment without eventually hitting the deck at least once.

Frazier, on the other hand, is accustom to taking that type of punishment. So I would bet on him being able to take whatever Louis was able to dish out his way. He may get dropped eventually, but he'd get right back up and continue his charge.

                    I like Frazier by UD.
