    Ward vs dawson

Obviously in the general they have ward as unbeatable and Dawson has no chance, personally I see this as a toss up.

Sure ward looked great in the super 6 but you can't compare any of those guys to Dawson, who Is on another planet in terms of talent. Dawsons fights with Hopkins by contrast are about as good prep for ward as you can get

I think this could look a bit like Jones v Hopkins 1

    What you guys thinking

I see it as close, but see Ward pulling it out by a couple of points, 7 rounds to 5.

At 175 or a fair catchweight its a great 50/50 fight. But with Dawson being drained to the bone its a joke of a fight, don't be surprised if Dawson breaks the record for least amount of punches thrown in a 12 round fight

I actually think Dawson will make the weight of, he's an athlete and in shape, plus he's young which helps, if he doesn't though then yes its a farce

Supposedly, Dawson is already at 179 lbs right now, if that's true then he should be fine to make weight. I am just really interested in why Dawson wanted this fight so badly that he would come down to Ward's weight and home turf?

Talent for talent, these guys are well matched. But at Ward's weight and with Ward's current momentum.....I think we'll see a Ward decision.

if not less. remember, dawson never went into a single training camp weighing over 180lbs in his entire career. what ppl either fail to realize or choose to ignore is that dawson doesnt cut weight. he comes into camp at 177-180, loses a few pounds in camp and fights at the same weight he weighs in at.

he will be just as big as he always is against ward only he will cut weight to make 168, probably only 5-6lbs which isnt much for a Lt.HW. besides, chad stared his career at 160, hes been at these weights before and has cut much more weight to make 160 than he will do to make 168 against ward.

i think its obvoius why he made this fight. the weight is a non issue as is the venue. dawson aint scared to fight in somebody elses backyard like the true champion he is and making 168 wont be a problem. ward is one of the top p4p fighters in the world, hes the true SMW champion and hes got alot of ppl thinking hes the next great thing in boxing. chad wants all those things for himself and hes gonna take it.

a catchweight would be a joke, we have two true world champion, champions not titlists. why would you make the fight at a catchweight where winning the belts would be tainted by the champion not being allowed to weigh in at the limit? ward is a champion and he is allowed to weight in at the championship limit, dawson is a challenger and he chose to challenge the champion for the title at that limit. a limit he can easily make, nothing unfair about that.

saying dawson will be drained to the bone is talking out of your ass, dude used to be a MW. he doesnt cut any weight at all to make 175, why would you assume he does? say he loses an extra 2lbs, then cuts 5lbs which is nothing for a man his size to make the weight. that wont drain him at all.

bute weights about as much in the ring for his s.mw fights as dawson does for his lt.hw fights, nobody is calling him drained. guys at 140 and lower cut more weight than dawson will have to cut in this fight.

If Chad Dawson beats Andre Ward in his own backyard and at his best fighting weight, then, in my opinion, Dawson is the best fighter in the world.
