1989-90 Mike McCallum vs. 1986-87 Marvin Hagler

jabsRstiff thinks that Hagler wins, I don't think he even stands much chance.

Not THAT Hagler against THAT McCallum, anyway.

Hagler, by a very narrow decision. His strength & grit would pull it out for him.
Two of my favorites....two of the best.

Hagler faded so much by then from the 77-83 version.

FFS, McCallum was just too damn good for him. I say.

Shouldn't this spam crap be in FANTASY FIGHTS or BOXING HISTORY?

            - -Teenaged Tony Ayala was in Marvs radar, not McC who was still in his BigBoy trainers.

This a perpetual matchup always posited by McC nutters.

I am trying to picture this fight: I am really drawing a blank.

I will say this: would not want to be the ref or the judges... Its going to be fought in the trenches, McCallum not going to want Hagler in the middle of the ring at all... Will be impossible to score. maybe Hagler fires off a few shots before they wind up battling inside.

Ref will be looking and trying to decide when to pull apart, probably gets hit a few times trying to do so...

hagler is a level above mccallum. This is probably the easiest matchup to predict. Its marvin on pts unanimous as mike had a great chin and excellent fundamentals. No knockdowns just hagler landing more telling blows consistently and winning most rounds.
