Ah true, but what if all those guys were in their prime at the same time. Then, how does Tyson do against them, considering Tyson and all those opponents are at their best. In that case, the only guys that beat him are probably Lewis by late TKO, Holyfield by decision and possibly Bowe, if it's the same one from the first Holyfield fight. I could see unanimous decisions over Mercer and McCall, possibly a McCall stoppage late against the ropes or on a cut.
would any of these guys from the same era have give Tyson trouble or won
Ray Mercer
Oliver Mcall
Lennox Lewis
Evander Holyfield
Rid**** Bowe
He'd beat em all in my humble opinion but all are dangerous fights.
Mercer and The Bull would be there for the long haul but at his best Mike had a great engine and was tough himself. I wouldnt completely rule a stoppage over Mercer out even. But Tyson had a way of putting people in their place and not getting too ambitious so i like him over both on points.
Holyfield would ALWAYS be a problem for Mike. I think Tyson would stop him midway in a complete tear up where both take heavy shots.
Bowe there is a case for winning with his size, range, toughness and inside skills but I just cant get past a guy who takes that many shots could last with a terror like Tyson who came bolting out of the gates with combinations and KO on his mind
Lewis would be perhaps the most dangerous of all but i think Tyson's ability to get in range back in his heyday would ensure he'd be in there doing damage on a...hmmm Knockoutable!? fighter in Lennox and that spells KO
Although Tyson was the better fighter I actually favor Bowe against him. Tyson was very vulnerable to uppercuts and Bowe's was a cast-iron b1tch. Tyson liked to clinch in-close and Bowe was a beast with that uppercut on the inside.
