Boxing woud be better if they brought back the scratched line!

The term you are not up to scratch came about because if your foot wasn't on the scratched line you were losing and weaker than your opponent, not good enough to win basically.

I think they should bring it back, none of this mayweather running crap, just two men punching till the weaker one drops.

    That's how real men fight.

    Agree or disagree and why?

People had to come back to scratch but they didn't have to stay there. You got knocked down (or were thrown down) and you were helped (or dragged) back to your corner. You had 30 seconds of rest and then had 8 seconds to go from your corner to the scratch line. Once the round started you could move around the ring. You didn't have to stay there.

What made it really brutal from today's perspective is that you could have been knocked-the-f**k out; dragged back to your corner; and come back out 40 seconds later and continue fighting.

If you're going to bring up the scratch line you should probably know how it actually worked. Boxers could still be evasive and use movement.

I think the ring should be half the size of the smallest ring and even smaller for lighter weight classes, and u get deducted points for clinching, no clinches allowed, running gets u points deducted too, and mma gloves with covered fingers

would u rather watch 2 piranhas fight in a swimming pool or in a bucket of water? which is more action packed?

Clinching is a defense technique. Yes it should only be used as a last resort, but it's a skill and there are still three opportunities for the opponent to inflict damage; coming in, in the clinch if incorrectly applied and going out.

Never tried a pair but would they allow the hands to be wrapped?

The argument for smaller glove sizes isn't one that is brought up often. A few years ago Bob Arum managed to get the Nevada State Athletic Commission to amend their glove size rule to allow lightweight and welterweight fighters the option of using 8- or 10-ounce gloves.

The increase in weight has not been particular great over the last 80+ years.

Heavyweights were wearing 6-ounce gloves in the 30's, today they wear 10-ounce.
