    Boxing fans are BRUTAL

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly some people write off an entire fighter's career despite one bad loss or performance. For example, Haney is a former champion in 2 weight classes (including undisputed) yet one bad performance against PED taking Garcia and he's suddenly one of the worst fighter's on the planet. It's as if everything he ever achieved never occurred. Same story for Sheeraz who was BLOWING the competition away in emphatic style and managed to land a title shot only to be outclassed and now he's nothing but a hype job and yesterday's news. There are countless other examples throughout history e.g. Naseem, Spence & even Broner (who was a 4 division champion!).

I look at things a DIFFERENT way. There are literally millions of fight fans around the world and tens of thousands regularly pack arenas to see these modern day gladiators perform. I rank fighter's according to 3 categories:- grade A - potential world title challenger, grade B - potential international/intercontinental title challenger & grade C - domestic title challenger. Therefore, in my opinion, somebody like Haney has already reached the HIGHEST level in the sport and nothing he does from this point on can ever change that whereas Sheeraz ALMOST reached the same feat but had to settle for the silver medal. Assuming boxing was the equivalent of the 4x4 relay (because there's potentially 4 world titles up for grabs), would you consider the team that placed second and won silver a failure? If yes than it says more about you than them as most people would consider that an EXTREMELY good result (especially considering there are millions of fight fans around the world yet only a tiny fraction manage to become world level fighters).

Also, don't be so quick to write off somebody after a loss. PLENTY of fighter's throughout history have gone on to win world titles after taking their first L e.g. Hopkins, Marquez, Khan etc so nothing is impossible.

There's an old well known Native American saying 'inside you there are 2 wolves...one good and one evil. The one who wins is the one you FEED'!

You start feeling empowered and think you're being FUNNY by talking ill about highly successful people online when in reality you're just digging your own grave deeper!

Good post and I largely agree. I would only add that you're possibly focusing on the boxing fans you're aware of on the internet too much. It draws out the most negatively extreme people possible so will give you a skewed perception of things.

maybe if the boxing media didn't hype these guys up and force them on us as the next pound for pound ppv superduperstar we would be more forgiving when they lose

boxers will generally lose at some point if they are not ducking marinators like we see so often now

u wouldnt write lebron off as being hopeless after 1 bad game but we sometimes only see these guys 1 or twice a year so it takes time for them to bounce back if fans are not happy

Fickle, Foolish, Picky, Disrespectful, Childish and I could go on. In a way, you almost can't blame Boxers being diva's now only focused on getting their biggest pay day with no care about the sport or legacy. Look at who they are supposed to please. Who needs enemies when you got fans like that.

Still it has to be stated that the casuals pay most of their bills so they can't go all out with that mindset either.

On the flipside, one good performance and you can be back in good graces. The hate Haney got for the Lomachenko fight died down after he moved up and beat Prograis.

Boxing fans are entitled morons who demand the world while offering sht all in return but their opinions rofl. The mentality of losers

I swear most are happier gossiping about potential ducking than they are observing the fights

I knew there’s no hope for most when these geeks started itching about Turki who has done more good than harm

boxers being called bums because they didn’t win a fight is disturbing

Athletes in other sports don’t get treated this way despite being physically inferior to boxers

Joshua has some bad ko losses but LeBron would get killed by Joshua in a real battle
