    7min rounds?

on the heavybag at home. Ive started really trying to move and weave hitting the bag cuz i dont think i move enough when i spar just to get in the habbit but i can go forever and lose track of time and check the clock and its been 7 or more mins. Should i keep doin this or go back to kicking the crap outta it so im actually winded after 3mins? i think im getting a better grasp on punchin at angles and my ducking and weaving is slowly becoming less foreign feelin.

thats a little excessive. u dont need 7 minute rounds dude. 2 or 3, or maybe 4 if u want, intensely will do the job. y would u wanna pace urself for 7 minute rounds. every now and then its good to do cardio on the bag and go for like 15-20 minutes nonstop, but not ALL the time... u gotta get in fight condition...

At first I did alot of rounds on the bag. Then my coach told me to have someone count my punches, and that I should have at least 200 punches a round. Ive averaged about 250 punches a round and the max was 293.Now doing this makes me tired as if I sparred 2 rounds in a round on the heavybag. I only do this for 3 rounds until I get used to it.

As long as you count your punches and its more then 200 punches(REAL PUNCHES) then you'll be tired.

i wasnt pacing for 7min rounds it just kinda happened. Im working on my head and body movement while i hit the bag so sometimes when im moving im not throwing so as a result i dont get tired and dont get tired

i've been wondering about this....... i don't see wots wrong with going seven minutes i mean if you condition yourself to go for seven minutes at the same pace as you would go for 3 minutes doesn't that mean you would just be more conditioned to go for 3 minute rounds

well, its obviously not a good 3 minute then. if u can go the same pace for 7 minutes then u can for 3, ur need to work alot harder on ur 3 minute rounds...

i wasn't trying to say i can just saying it would be good to try and condition yourself to go for longer than you have to rather than trying to condition yourself for the actuall amount of minutes and rounds you would be fighting

e.g say youve got a fight coming up for 4 2min rounds you train so that you know you can go 5 3min rounds .........wouldn't this be better

oh no doubt if u can go ferociously at the bag non stop for 7 minutes as hard as possible, thats the **** and u will DEF be in better condition. its all about the right pace.
