    How often do boxers do weights

    Like some of the super middleweights and light heavyweights are ripped. And Floyd is to. How often do these guys do weights. Because im sure, hitting the bag can't do this to you. ??

    IV never done weights in all the time IV boxed and I became toned, so I'm pretty sure you don't need them to get buff. Plus I find them boring as ****. Groundwork, running, skipping, bag work all general boxing exercises do them for long enough and your gonna start seeing improvements.

      I dont know about guys like floyd, but are trainer gets us to do weights about 2 days out of the 6 days a week we go

        1 day a week should suffice if ur doing alot of boxing training, 2 days a week is good too, i wouldnt even worry about doing more than 2 days a week cuz u dont wanna take time away from real boxing training. tho weights wont make u a better fighter, its jus one piece of a MUCH LARGER puzzle, but u dont need them at all to be a successful fighter.

        i tihnk kevin rooney (tysons trainer) said "weights have as much to do with boxing as cheesecake."
