i started out about 1 and a half months ago, go about 1 a week, sometimes 2 times if i get some free time, im still learing basics at the moment so no point going all the time as i rearly get 1 on 1 training other than the 1 day i go
i balance out 3 days a week in the boxing gym and the other 3 i work on my muscle endurance and conditioning and spar 2-3 days a week. I try to usually skip a week of sparring every end of a month or two to give my body and brain some time to recover. Is this a smart idea and will it help me out in the long run to be cautious as to i dont want brain damage? what other ways is there to avoid any brain injuries or any other injuries do you guys use?

i'd be careful sparring to the point where you think you could get serious brain damage

be always care full, don't go full on and expect that from the other guy as well. i had a few encounters where the other guy really tried to brake my face but the coach quickly took him out of the ring and warned him not to do that any more of start looking for a new gym.

but you could go and just hit the heavy bag, jump some rope and watch the guys spar for an additional 2 times a week, if i were you i would do that
