    Hyperextended elbow, need advice!

So my 15yo hyperextended his elbow sparring about 1yr ago throwing a straight right to the body. And it still hurts him. From what other Coaches and fighters told me, this is common and many have the same lingering issue.

My HMO (Kaiser) has had us do multiple Xrays (we already know nothings broken) and they keep pushing physical therapy over an MRI/surgery but it dont help. We've also done the whole "R.I.C.E." to no avail.

Our Chiropractor recommended doing some blood doping injections in the elbow where it hurts but Im skeptical. Anyways, can any of you recommend anything thatll help from experience?

P.s. His pain is in the elbow by the funny bone up to his tricep.

I don’t know about the surgery part but definitely get an MRI. A simple hyperextension should have healed long ago.

I would suggest you get an MRI as well to make sure there are no issues.

X-Ray tells of broken things. MRI tells all! Your HMO should have a policy in place where after x amount of XRays and y amount of time passes they are required to pay for the MRI.
Its always in the 250 pages of fine print.
Also has the Dr requested one? That is what HMO’s can’t defeat.
        Good luck

Can't you just hyperdistend it back?

                    Likely shouldn't do that himself.
