maybe I should of said "RJJ wannabe" not literally like RJJ. Look up Hinduw, he was the worst one for it, hands down, punching hooks on the bag constantly instead of jabbing, then he claimed it wasn't really him lol.

Nice movement, much better than my big azz. But your jab needs more extension, more snap. It almost looks like a lazy hook now.

Nice vid! Keep 'em coming. Good luck.

            The shadow boxer.

First tip - get a mirror and practice in front of the mirror

What you see is what your opponent will see.

When you were shadow boxing did you visualize an opponent in front of you
that also tossed a few punches, as I did not see you block or slip any imaginary
            punches and throw counter-punches.

It would be nice to point out the good points, but as an analyst for your
imaginary opponent, one of the key counterpunches that i would recommend
the "shadow" toss your way is a tight left hook. Also, I would have an opponent
use a left hook in an offensive series of combinations after a left and right, or
a lead jab and a fake right.

But back to basics, footwork needs to be worked on, in some cases you are sliding both feet, and in other cases standing flat footed.

In many cases, after a series of moves, you are bringing your both fists together in
front of you, this would leave you open for a fast left lead against your hands/gloves
followed by a power right hand and a left hook.

For body punching, you are not punching with your body but pushing out your arms
towards the body, but leaving your head wide open.

            Recommendation:

            Get a mirror
Work on style and positioning of the feet
Punch with the body not the arms.
Work on footwork and effective movement
Study body punching and practice on the heavy bag
            -straight left to the body
-right to the heart or solar plexus area
short tight fast left hook to the liver region of the body.

Re-focus on the left jab where the jab, the body and the feet are moving like a well
oiled machine, that is all parts working together, also work on the double and triple lefts

I hope some of these points provide you with a shadow boxing training plan
            - think Willie Pep & Sugar Ray Robinson and try to copy them in ring movement
            and punching technique.

First thing i did at 15 seconds is throw a slip jab. 2:23-2:30 im pretty sure unless a "pro trainer" would call that something else that i threw a counter jab as i back peddled, i slipped under and then blocked a right and left just for a few examples.

im resetting and im moving away from my opponent. who in their right minds would do that inside or even mid range from an opponent. if you watch any pro fight and you watch either of them step back and reset they will majority of the time drop their hands at least halfway down before they bring it back up.

are you trying to say that im arm punching? if thats what your saying i couldnt arm punch on purpose or feel comfortable doing it if i chose to do so. aside from throwing some punches just for movement(throwing them slow) i still shift my weight accordingly for each punch(punching mechanics) regardless if i throw it slow or fast so i always have the movement of each punch weather its shifting weight forward for a jab or pivoting for straights and hooks and uppercuts.

appreciate the comment and suggestions. regardless i am always trying to improve and learn new things. appreciate the time you put into it.

I'm not gonna lie to you man... but half that **** u did wouldn't really work in an actual boxing match.

"I will **** you up!" -Someone said that.

You seem like a cool cat, but seriously. those nice little movements don't mean **** in a real fight.

                  The second look

Took another look, and one thing that I noticed is sometimes when you are throwing a right
your right foot is still flat on the floor and your right hip isn't moving forward, now that
isn't power punching that is disaster waiting to happen, and it is your chin that would be
on the line while the rest of us sit in our easy chairs or rocking chairs.

aside from throwing a shoeshine which can be effective if used properly im not sure what your talking about "nice little movements"? are you referring to me just throwing punches out for the movement and not really at full speed?

Well what you did seems to me to be a dog and pony show... if u will. Sure, it looks nice. But when things are full-go all that nice shadow boxing you did isn't going to be like that.

My trainer use to tell me "Shadow boxing isn't about looking nice! it's about fighting an imaginary opponent!!"

This seems to be one of those shadow boxing sessions where it looks 'cool'

just my opinion. Next time, shadow box as if you're fighting a real opponent.
