Concussion: Nothing to play with
You need to take at least 7 days away from any contact and I STRONGLY advise you to see a doctor. Here is my brief background: currently an amateur boxer and was a neurological researcher for a couple years. I presented a study on TBI in New York in 2006 about TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) . I am not a doctor but I have read quite a bit of literature regarding TBI and concussions.
The fact that you had significant memory loss should be of concern and no taken lightly. A second concussion prior to healing from the first could cause significant harm. See the attached link for details...

If you dont remember anything then thats not good. But I recall when I was first starting out that I wouldnt remember much of the sparring sessions either. Not because I was being hit so hard and hurt, but rather that I was green, tight, nervous and really just in a crazy position, fighting somebody in the ring when just an hour ago I was watching cartoons. Give it time, its probably just a thing with handling the adrenaline that gets flowing through your system. Let me guess, when you were done and not remembering the sparring your legs were shaking while you were looking for the lost time. Adrenaline is the most awsome "drug" there is man. Its natural and its powerfull, its something that you will learn to handle in time....Rockin'Last edited by Rockin'; 11-29-2009, 07:43 AM.
