When I first sparred with a pro, I was thinking he was gonna go easy on me, and I got KOd while sparring in under 30 seconds. So lemme tell you this, dont listen to ANYONE that says not to go 100% in sparring! sparring is simulating a fight, and you dont hold back in a fight, so dont hold back in sparring, or you will never be fully adjusted for a real fight!

I always fought hard whether it was in the gym or in the competitive ring.

I did work less than 100% at times, but let me tell you that when he would land a good shot that left me seeing stars you could bet that I'm coming for you 110% to get it back and then some.

Never under estimate any knew face. If it's your first roll with this guy give it to him. If you find that it's like taking candy then lighten up on the power but never allow him to gain control.

I recognize a bell sounding as a calling to war and I treat it as such.

      I went after everybody, it didn't matter.........Rockin'

I don't see why you wouldnt start at 100%, unless the other guy is significantly smaller than you and/or less experienced. Or if you're beating him badly, you should drop it a notch...although sometimes you can get caught up and forget to slow down.

Better him than you right? lol

Go all out. 100%. Dont worry about hurting anyone, it's a tough game.

But why 100 because then you get sloppy shouldn't you just work on technique

ok, if you take that attitude when you answer the bell to "spar" than your fighter will look sloppy when he answers the bell to fight. You will train as you fight and fight how you've trained. A new fighter must get used to the adrenaline that will over come his thoughts and his movements. He needs to experience the actuall in the trenches warfare, well supervised ofcourse.

you can be sure that you will be pumped with adrenaline while awaiting your first bell. You need to learn how to control it to perform at a skilled level in a sanctioned ring.........Rockin'

100% doesn't mean you have to get sloppy.
