    Anyone else struggling....

To get back into training after the xmas holiday? I'm going for my first run tonight after three weeks of doing nothing but drinking Guinness, eating garbage and enough sugar to sink a ship. I'm dreading it, put on 10lbs, anyone else let themselves go?

oh god yes, thank god i'm not the only one. even just after a week of no gymwork ,though consistently doing my roadwork, i felt like my stamina did not decrease at all, matter of fact i thought it improved. but at my first gymwork yesterday boy did i feel like ****. usually 3 rounds of pad work don't tire me that much but after 3 rounds i was so gassed out i needed a minute or two to catch my breath. my shoulders were killing me, i felt like myself when i just started boxing lol. fml, but i think i'll get used to it again soon. i guess running and boxing uses two different stamina, eh?

Absolutely, i've never been an avid runner sometimes not running for a couple of months though i could still spar 8-9 rounds no problem while the runners would struggle to do that

alcohol is a drug. just bcuz you say drunk instead of high, alcohol poisoning instead of overdose and alcoholic instead of junkie doesnt change the fact that they are the exact same thing.

alcohol is only legal bcuz its been around for so long, if coke and alcohol switched places in terms of when they were first made the average joe would be doing coke instead of drinking beer or having a glass of wine.

matter of fact alcohol and coke basicly have the same effect on the body. brain damage, damge to the internal organs, addictiveness and risk of overdose is basicly the same coke being slightly, slightly more dangerous in all areas. but alcohol does far more damage in every way than other drugs like cannabis, lsd and even ecxtacy. FACT.

ppl just dont think for themselves, ppl around them drink so they do the same without questioning it.

i dont judge anyone, ppl should do whatever they want to with their lives without being judged by anyone. but if you choose to do drugs like alcohol boxing just isnt a good idea, its one or the other.

damn man you shouldnt have fell of the wagon. when i realized i was ruining my chances of becoming a decent boxer and stopped drinking it was one of the best decisions i ever made. it was hard at first but it gets easier and easier.

the first 6 months are the hardest, when ppl around you drink you feel kinda left out. after about 8 months clean that dissapeared though, and after a while ppl learn that you dont drink so they dont bug you about it. thats the worst part btw, ppl bugging you about drinking and refusing to take no for an answer when you say you arent interested.

now (3 years clean) i cant even imagine putting that crap into my system. my boxing has gon several levels up as has my personal life. more money to spare, clearer head, more energy etc. i admit its individual but making the decision to stop using alcohol was one of the biggest positive milestones in my life.

reading that back it all sounds kinda cliche and gay but its still true lol.

Nope, not this time. I used to do what you did but not this year. If I ever want to get below 10% bf, then I'll need to continue through the holidays. Which I did, and I am glad that I did too.

As I do agree with you if your going to be Boxing and take it serious you shoulnn't be getting all ****** up drinking drugs and or any other thing but as for your statment about if they were around at different times it would be different you may wanna look into that a little more my friend they have been coke has been around for many years as its how Coke "really was in soda" as well as doctor use to perscribe it long ago before they knew the long term effects as all the other opiates that have been around as long as time can tell I dont condone any of it but to each there own as you said. Just my opinion what can I say History is fun.
