    Matthew Hatton growling style

Ive seen many boxers growl or make some kind of noise when they throw a punch. But Matthew Hatton seems to really roar when he throws and they are not even heavy punches. Is this kind of pointless? I have never found the need to make any noise when I throw punch? Please correct me if im wrong?

Boxers blow a quick breath out when throwing a punch as it helps with the speed of the punch

After awhile I can't even hear the commentators.

My wife thought it was funny, so its an inside joke in our house. Occasionally she'll jump from around a corner hit me in the shoulder while making that "BAHP!" yelp noise. Or she'll start doing it everytime my guy throws a punch in fight night champion.

To test this, hold your breath and flick out a jab or a straight. Then try it again, but this time exhale very quickly with the punch. Force the air out quickly. You'll feel and see a difference.

Is this guy an amatuer? First off wears his mouth piece? Second his mouth is OPEN, who ever is teaching this young man isn't correcting his mistakes. His head never moves on the inside and his breaths telegraphs his punching. I'm guessing this young guy is related to the Hatton who fought Mayweather? He has all the same obvious faults that the other fellow displays. They look like "club fighters", they have no fluidity to their moves and they don't put real combinations together. He never fights threw the pads, he punches and automaticly moves away!!! The second has the body pad on so the fighter should be punching threw it and moving threw it too!!! He doesn't follow threw anything, just bounces away all the time. Needs a trainer to teach him basic methods and techniques. Ray.

I agree with most of what you said, but what's wrong with wearing his mouthpiece for training? I hear it's beneficial for getting comfortable breathing with it, since you will be fighting with it.

Juan Manuel Marquez is always seen training with his pink mouthpiece.

I read Ray's comment as "Where is his mouthpiece." not "wears his mouthpiece"

I could be wrong, but I think it was a typo

orrect I should have spelled "wheres his piece" if hes wearing one I couldn't tell. How you train is how you'll fight and not training hard through the three minutes is a bad beginning. To me these fellows have heart and try hard but their training is one dimentional so their one dimentional fighters. No offense and don't like knocking other trainers but that particular teaching session was very poorly performed by both. Ray
