    Straight right has no power

I have hard hooks but have a soft straight right and it's upsetting me. Also I'm losing power in my right hook and my left hook is 10x harder. This is heartbreaking because my wrists are causing this but now that I have a habit of hitting soft to protect my right wrist I've began to lose power. Upsetting because us black guys have hard hands

Quit being a sissy and punch through it.

For real though how long you been punching a bag? Are you sure your wrists are ready for the trauma?

Not through that turns into more of a push, penetrate 3 inches - 3.5 same as Bruce Lee.

Its sound advice at the start for noobs but later on less attempt to go through more snap.

You dont want to be one of those ho,mo martial arts guys that snaps too early thats even worse than driving through

If getting the range right is hard and they are too close driving through is kinda practical but you dont want to KEEP driving through too much let it naturally disconnect

If you are hurting your wrist you probably don't know how to punch correctly. You should look up michael jai white how to punch on youtube. That should help. Once you solve that problem then it all comes down to technique and using your lower body and hips to generate power.

Work on speed and form and don't worry about power. It will come...or it won't

You already seem to know what the problem is...soreness in your wrist. Fix that and then work on power. Also, maybe stay off the heavy bag for awhile. its likely where you are injuring your wrist. I love my double end bag. I can whack the crap out of it and not worry about my hands and arms getting injured. If you hit something like a heavy bag long enough as hard as you can,,sooner or later something is going to give

Plus in amateurs it is not really about power.

It’s speed ie no of connected punches = points.
