Hundreds of thousands of migrants from the Syrian war traveled through Turkey, Greece, and the Balkans to get to Western Europe. The EU gave out quotas to some of the members, but countries like Hungary and Poland refused to take them in, while Germany and Sweden welcomed them. In fact Germany forced small towns to take in migrants.

Before that, in the 1950's, Germany imported hundreds of thousands of Turks to work in their factories thinking they would go home when the work finished. They were wrong.

France took in many from Algeria, which they owned after WWII. Google "Le Pen" and you will read about a man who spoke out against letting ******s into France and was chastised to his opinions. His daughter Marina ran for the presidency a few years ago.
