Who is your favorite? And Why?
Let me start off, with Guillermo Diaz, who is much better than Carlos Arroyo.
Guillermo Diaz
6-2, 192 lb junior PG out of Miami
Age: 25 years
HomeTown: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Guillermo Diaz Profile
Guillermo Diaz grew up in Puerto Rico playing volleyball and it carried over to the basketball court as the 6-foot-2 guard offers tremendous hops, speed and scoring ability to the team that selects him on June 28th. After a breakout sop****re season in which he electrified crowds by scoring 18.6 points and 4.3 rebounds, Diaz underwent knee surgery. He still bounced back from it, scoring 17.2 points for the Hurricanes as a junior, earning Second Team All-ACC honors.
Guillermo Diaz Strengths
With a 42-inch vertical leap, Diaz is an exceptional athlete who can soar to the rack. He's got a good stroke that extends out to three-point range (36.4% from trifecta as a junior). Very competitive and aggressive -- he doesn't shy away from contact. Has good speed and quickness to go with a deadly first step and some nice handles. Definitely has a scoring mentality and can put up points in bunches.
Guillermo Diaz Weaknesses
What's his position? Diaz is a shooting guard trapped in a point guard's body. Seemed to lose some of his explosiveness after arthroscopic knee surgery after his sop****re season. Not a very good passer and not likely to be able to play point guard in the pros -- certainly not right away. He just doesn't have that kind of court vision and can play out of control at times. Defense is suspect.
