Brazil will soon be the most influential and powerful country in Latin America. Mexico is on it's way as well, and I'm not saying that because I'm Mexican.

They are growing economically and have industries that will bring in revenue for a long time.

Brazil have the biggest economy in Latin America but that wont transpire in having the most influential country. Mexico is the most influential latin america country and will be until Venezuela change.

Economically, Chile is growing faster than Mexico and Brazil. And Chile dont have those crazy numbers of criminality rate.

Chile had the best economy for a long time in Latin America, the problem is they don't have the natural resources that Mexico or Brazil have.

I think you underestimate what Brazil will do in the near future. They export so many products, are growing economically and tourism is flourishing.

Mexico might be but the crime rate in Mexico has really hurt their tourism. The new president has changed that though, basically leaving the cartels alone and trying to get back to before Calderon.

Venezuela is ***ed, Chavez has destroyed that country. It was once the nicest Latin American country and now boasts one of the highest crime rates, highest poverty rates and was rated #10 in the world in corruption.

Chavez is dying of cancer and won't last much longer but what will come after him might be even worse.

I agree, most countries these days spread their influence mostly in the entertainment business. You think of the most recognized markets in each continent, you think US, UK, S. Korea, Australia, S. Africa.

For Latin America, you think Mexico.

Chile is developing well, but right now the mexican chile is probably more known than the country. Chile in the entertainment business is up(or should I say down) there with Paraguay, Chad, Yemen etc.

Brazil isn't really overlooked, they're part of BRIC so no way are they being overlooked by anyone with common sense.

Really Venezuela has the highest poverty rate? A quien le creo a ti o a la CEPAL?

Brazil have the best economy in latin america already. But you think they will have more influence in countries that speak spanish? One of their best singers, Alexander Pires, had his best success globally when he sang in spanish. Influence in our latin countries are more than just economics.

Everyone in latin America knows who is El Chavo del 8. Most know who is Cantinflas. In sports, we all know who rule in football. However, even if you dont like other countries football team, you want them to beat Mexico. Seriously man, some latinos really like to see you guys mad when it comes to football. I seen it.

Venezuela can be the most powerful country if they want to. They can try to unite South America, but not like they are trying to do it right now. They got Bolivia and Ecuador following, but not the right way. With all the resources in Central America you think that Mexico could take the lead over there, but no one follows. If Venezuela really wanted to, they will be the most powerful economy in all latin America and probably top 10 in the world. Pero, Chavez/Castro/Evo happens.
