Damn. One of my favorite memories as a kid was getting Ring Magazine.

The Ring has been thru many changes thru the years, many ups and downs. Overhauls. Comebacks, changes etc. I don't know yet what is going on but it's interesting to me, and I will be following this as closely as possible.

You'll still be able to. It's not ceasing publication.

But Cliff, as part of Ring Magazine, can you confirm that what I said is true?

              Hey bro:

I'm not, and never have been, part of Ring. I advise on their ratings at their request in an unpaid manner (i.e. just with the panel).

              That's it.

As to confirmation, I don't know details on what happened but Raskin and Detloff have been tweeting on it and talked about it on their podcast and it lines up.

I can remember in 1988 when it seemed like Ring magazine was gonna die, the quality was terrible it was just a skeleton of the magazine I remembered from the early to mid 80's and late 70's. Then they came back all new and improved with this issue in January of 1990...

So I hope it gets better, not worse.

Oh, sorry that I misrepresented your relationship with the magazine. I hope the high standards that they use for the ratings stay intact. But I'm sure you can understand why many will be skeptical.

i've noticed recently a serious lack of fight coverage and coverage of fighters not involved with goldenboy of late

they just don't seem to be doing as much with the magazine as they have been able to do in the past

i'm seriously considering canceling my subscription if they don't turn things around quickly.

this is bad bad news, bros.
