Why are so called "boxing experts" so damn bias to current fighters?

Bert Sugar is an example, hes puts fighters from the ****in last century in front of great fighters like Joe Calzaghe, Roy Jones, Marvin Hagler etc
I realise it must be tough and depressing to get old and die but please stop being so damn bias and putting relics who nobody knew even existed (I mean who the fk is Rocky Graziano? LOL).
The black and fight fighters couldnt box for **** in those days simply because nobody taught them right, the first old fighter to ever actually box decently was Ali and he would get smoked by todays heavyweights easily.

It's because he wasn't born in this generation. I don't put Joe Calzaghe on my great list ether though so I guess that's not saying much. Rocky Graziano ( trained by cus' d amato?) was a good fighter but I sure as hell hope he didn't put him above Hagler. Let me see this list.

Ali wasn't the first good boxer, he'd box circles around any of the fat fk's today. Have you even seen him fight? I'd say Tunney was the changing of the guard in skills.

I know this is another one of your threads but...

Rocky Graziano was ranked 98th in Bert Sugar's list while Hagler was in the top 50. Graziano was a middleweight champion with over 50 KO's.

Hagler started his career in 1973 when Ali was 30 years old and had yet to beat George Foreman to regain the title.

I don't agree with the list but I also realize that it is impossible to put together a top 100 list that everyone would agree with. Most wouldn't even be able to come up with 100 names...

Old school fighters are always seen as a notch above current fighters. Many guys don't start gettin mass props til they retire.

This is exactly true. Whether they deserve it or not. Here in the Philippines we have that oriental ancestor worship thing going. Why else would all of our so called experts rank Flash Elorde and Ponchi Villa, and even an amateur who never turned pro Anthony Villaneuva, ahead of Pacquiao. Those fighters didn't win titles in multiple weight divisions or beat the best in their divisions. But until Pacquiao has been retired for a few years the geriatrics will love their own and put them ahead of someone who is unquestionable heads and shoulders above anyone the Philippines or Asia has ever seen in the boxing ring.

i think fighters from 1925-85 were better than todays fighters....

fighters from before 1925 had no skills...seriously they were awful

i think skillwise fighters from 25-85 are equal to todays boxers but they were jsut so much more hungry and determined
