Joe Cal was excellent in his prime, punched more and slapped less. I can see him winning a UD but if Nigel Benn hurts him early on, he gets a brutal stoppage.

I go with prime Calzaghe.

It's hard to say when Calzaghe's prime was. Earlier in his career he was much stronger and could KO his opponents, later in his career he was much more swift, crafty, and intelligent. I'd say Calzaghe early in his career by TKO, and later Calzaghe by UD.

I'd go for a prime Calzaghe on points. Calzaghe in his prime had a lot more power and betting punching technique as his hands wern't shot to ****. Benn would swing wildly i think and Calzaghe would just keep him at bay with his jab.

benn has said that calz would beat him but i think he is simply acknowledging that calz is the better fighter.

imo a fight between these two would be a classic. i think calz's prime was around 2000-2002, at the time calz's hands weren't completely mashed up, he was still dazzling quick and he was expereinced enough to have a few tricks up his sleeve.

the only danger with calz is that he wouldn't be able to resist the tear up and he would stand toe to toe with benn, calz has a really good chin and can withstand benns power but with benn's power and ferocity there is always the chance that he will catch calz and plant him on his arse.

however that said if calz was to fall early you wouldn't be surprised to see him rise from the canvas and take control. not only that but benn didn't have a great chin and remeber that a prime calz still had some pop with his left.

id say calz by TKO before in the 10th
