    Young Stribling-~224-13-14, 129 KO

    - - Only ye ol' Mongoose has more KO wins, 132, than Strib who turned pro after storied Acrobatic career with Ma and Pa Stribling, age 16 where he won his first regional titles.

Top HS basketball player renown as a drop dead shot, he fought a host of HOFers and should be HOFers like Primo whom he exchanged DQ wins with. International as well winning the Euro title in England, and a noted aviator back when the survival rate of that endeavor was 50%. Owned his own local radio station, and like Ali drop dead gorgeous and unmarked during his "brief" career, his only KO loss was in a title fight vs Schmeling who had already notched Joe Louis for his scalp totem.

Sadly he succumbed age 28 in an horrific auto collision while on his motorcycle on his way to visit his wife and newborn son in the hospital where he ended up in tragedy, heroic until the end by all accounts. He was on one month removed from his last HOF win over Mad Maxie Rosenbloom in the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston.

Seldom gets mentioned, but he was quite something in his day. Even managed to serve in the armed forces, a guy who not only could do it all, but did do it all!

        - - What's interesting is Strib after debuting age 16 for over 250 fights, yet by age 28 at the time of his death showed no sign of cognitive damage that I've ever seen recorded, and in fact was something of a polymath.

Archie Moore another guy with even a longer career and more fights was renown for his wit and wisdom until the end of his long earthly existence. Did Arch ever address the cognitive issue or show any signs of cognitive damage?
