      Notably, he wasn't a slugger, but wif his huge hands and size and strength, he was a fearsome choker. He had as one of our more esteemed boxing experts would weigh in, "impressive milking muscle."

        You have to do it in six. Six degrees of separation. Make Sullivan the "Kevin Bacon" of HW history.

        Louis -> Sharkey -> Wills -> Johnson -> Jeffries -> Corbett -> Sullivan.

        DAMN IT - that's seven!

        ON A DIFFERENT NOTE

        I wonder how short of chain can we get from from Fury to Sullivan?

        Fury -> Wald -> Lewis -> Tyson -> Holmes -> Ali -> Moore -> Marciano -> Louis -> Sharkey -> Wills -> Jeffries -> Corbett -> Sullivan.

        14 degrees of separation. Can anyone get there faster?

          I'm rather confused: Wlad didn't fight Lewis - and Wills never fought Jeffries! So several names are missing in this chain!

            Sorry I blew the Wald outright I thought they fought. Breaks the chain to Fury.

            Not missing, I was trying for as short a chain as possible.

            No Wills wasn't supose to fight Jeffries, Johnson was the connection between the two.

            I misunderstood I thought you were connecting lineal chains of fights (history) back to Sullivan.

            I guess I made up my own game, sorry!

            What are the rules? LOL

                  No special rules! Pretty straight forward... we're simply trying to connect two boxers via a chain of the fewest possible names. Isn't that what Willow had in mind, when he started this in post #3?

                    Indeed it is - and I gave you an "11" in post #31.

                      I'm sorry I realize just now I left Johnson off my list. DUH!
