I bought KO, World Boxing and Ring back in the day. I still have a few Boxing Illustrated as well. Still have alot of Ring Magazines from the mid to late 70's up till the mid 80's. I go through them every now and then and still enjoy them greatly. Unfortunately the others (KO and World Boxing) were lost in a move. I miss going down to the news stand and buying the monthly titles and had it down to a day or two when each title would arrive. Good memories. My favorite was Ring as the worldwide results were amazing and comprehensive. Very good interviews too and incredible how many boxing cards there were around the world back then compared to now. I last bought a Ring magazine about 5 years ago for nostalgia and wish I hadn't.

KO was my favorite. Good articles & interviews. The poster in the middle with the fighters record on the backside of it when knowing someones resume was something you rarely knew much about til I discovered Ring Record Books (which I stole from my local library it was such a crazy thing to find with all its history of previous belt holders & active guys, sorry Library from my hometown) & Fight Fax.
But I liked & bought them all. I had a sub to every US mag for yrs. An underrated fav was Boxing Illustrated(?) which had a great feature where they had a lil paragraph or two blurbs on cards all over the US & world that was the closest thing you could get to keeping up on the progress of guys who weren't on TV. And in those days the only fights you saw were the main & comain. Seeing anything lower than the comain on TV felt like a gift lol.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 05-20-2024, 03:56 PM.

I loved Fight Fax record books, which I used to order yearly, but I was in love with the Ring Record book upon finding it. There was so much history & facts in that thing I would go to a random page all the time & just start looking at it. They even had bare knuckle guys in there which I knew very little about at the time. I was fascinated with that book for a long time.

Until a point in my life I collected them all (including Boxing News from the UK, the lone boxing màgazine I'm still reading nowadays - online). Not anymore, alas.
International Boxing Digest was one of them and I remember it as rather excellent. It was the continuation of the glorious Boxing Illustrated.
Bert Sugar's Fight Game was brilliant as well. Its life was short, though.Last edited by Tatabanya; 05-21-2024, 03:02 PM.LITTLE JOE
