Diego Corrales vs Joel Casamayor II: Disgraceful decision or not?

I just rewatched Corrales vs Casa II, and thought Casa won it easily. As in, by five rounds or something ridiculous. I thought that was a disgrace.

What's everyone's thoughts on this absurd decision? If you thought it an absurd decision at all?

Had Chico winning the second fight.

I agree with alot of the posts on here saying that casamoyer is severely underrated,, he was a very very good fighter in his prime,,,
Would have love to see him and floyd fight at 130 or 135

yes, underrated,, thanks for pointing that out, i fixed it,,,,

I havent watched the fight in awhile, probably not since the week after it happened,, need to rewatch it,,

When thinking about these 2 fighters i always remember the first fight which was very good, i think it was on the same card as toney-holyfield, and the 3rd fight when casamoyer dragged chico,, the 2nd kinda always gets lost in memory for me

How would people rank this triology with others throughout history? Interesting as I dont hear too much about it except it was Chicos firecest rival besides JLC

It wasnt the best trilogy,,, and it was kinda spread out over a few years,,, plus the 3rd fight wasnt that good,,
And also chico and joel arent big personalities like a gatti, MAB, evander, and others that get ore hype for trilogies,,,

Cepillo was a great fighter who was the Cuban pioneer for Gamboa,Rigo and Lara. He fought everybody and was a headache for brawlers, he took away your best attributes and made you look lost out there. He had good enough power to keep you at bay and had a perfect straight left that tagged every fighter. Casamayor got robbed on many fights like the 2nd Corrales fight, Castillo and the worse one was against kid diamond who Arum thought was a star only to get beat down by Nate Campbell.

Arum always hated Cuban fighters and always made sure they lose a decision against his fighters since no one will care about a slick fighter who makes the sock em' rock em' fighters look terrible. Rigo put a clinic on Donaire and look how close the decision was

Casamayor wasn't robbed against Castillo at all. When you're initiating more clinches than you're throwing punches, don't expect to be rewarded for it. His performance reminded me of Hopkins and how much he faded and was unnerved by Calzaghe going down the stretch of their fight - after success in the first quarter or so of the fight.



As for the trilogy itself: the last two were pretty dull.
