    Alexis Arguello

Today is the 1 year passing of Alexis Arguello from where he was found dead after shooting himself in the heart in his home town of Managua, Nicaragua.

Alexis had an amazing career with wins over Ruben Olivares, Jim Watt, Ray Mancini, Ruben Castillo,Bobby Chacon, Jose Luis Ramirez, Jose Torres and other greats and he participated in some of the best fights the ring has ever seen with Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor.

He is rated by many as the greatest featherweight ever.

One of my favourite boxers he was a true warrior inside the ring and a gentleman out. He's still missed.

My thoughts go out to Alexis Jr, Roberto, Dora and the rest of the Arguello family, he was took from them too early.

Share your thoughts and memories of Alexis Arguello.

My third favorite fighter of all time(behind Ali and Hearns) had the most class of any ATG. He is the only man to go into hostile waters, kick his opponent's ass, and be given a standing ovation from his opponent's faithful followers. It happened against Escalera and Watt, in countries where the fans would riot if their fighter lost. Instead, they treated Arguello like the ATG that he was. RIP, Alexis, you were a credit to the sport!!!!!!

Arguello could very well be my favorite fighter of all time. As much of a gentleman he was outside of the ring, it was his ability to sooner or later find that one shot that would end the fight that was legendary in my eyes. RIP Explosivo.
