Fighters who have underrated wins on there resume

After being out for for 3 years Ali's come back stoppage victory over jerry quarry is a great win that gets under rated.

Ruben Carter's win over future wba heavyweight champion Jimmy Ellis is also under rated and carter dropped jimmy in that fight

Jerry Quarry takeing the unbeaten record of the massive punching Mac Foster is underrated

I dont think Vargas get enough credit for his wins over campas who was 74 wins 2 defeats at the time, winky wright and ike quatey

          There's a few

-Chalky Wright is a underrated win for Henry Armstrong. And Sammy Angott
is also a underrated win for Armstrong, the fight before Armstrong, Angott had just beat 62-0 Willie Pep.

-Jose Basaora is a underrated win for Jake Lamotta. The fight before Basora had just drew with a 54-1 Ray Robinson, Lamotta stopped him in 9.

-Marcel Cerdan stopping the very capable Harold Green in 2.

-When Ken Norton stopped 38-0 standout amatuer Duane Bobick in just 1 round.

-Rafael Ruelas is a underrated win for Oscar De La Hoya. Ruelas was 43-1 going into the fight, and even the loss was highly disputed. He had made 2 defences of his IBF Title, and Oscar just destroyed him in 2.

-Oscar Bonavena is a underrated win for talented Jimmy Ellis. Only a year previous Bonavena had took a unbeaten Joe Frazier to a MD, and dropped him twice. Ellis was able to drop Bonavena twice take a home a tight but clear decision.

Ayub Kalule was past his prime when he beat Sumbu kalambay. Kalambay went on to win the MW title and get wins over McCallum, Collins, Barkley, Herol Graham etc.

And Kalule won on points in Italy! It's scarcely believable really.

Not really that big a win as Ellis lost quite a few fights at 160. He was better at heavyweight, oddly enough.

An underrated win for Carter is his one round blowout of iron-chined Emile Griffith. No one ever did that to Griffith before or after and Carter never beat another fighter of that calibre in such a fashion. Inexplicable in the context of their careers.

Quarry was Foster's first respectable opponent, and Foster later proved to be no better than a fringe contender. While Jerry looked very impressive winning that fight, his win over an unbeaten Ron Lyle fits here better. Lyle proved to be a much better heavyweight than Foster ever was. It may have been Quarry's career best performance too.

Same with Davey Moore (the jr middleweight, not the featherweight).
