How good was Ray Robinson's chin?

I'm watching some remastered fights right now (Basillio I/II) and I just realized that I haven't seen him even remotely bothered by some huge shots from Basillio? What kind of puncher was Carmen? Or was Sugar Ray's chin just absurdly good? He has a reputation for being durable, but this is something else.

P.S. Ray's gotta do something about his hair...he looks like a fiend or something hahaha.

Ray Robinson had one of the great chins, and is over-shadowed because of his greatness in other departments, I mean only being KO'd once by heat is pretty remarkable when going up against tough fighters like Gavlain, Fullmer, Basilio and LaMotta.

Great chin, but also an anomaly, because unlike the others at the top of that list he was quite vulnerable to the flash knockdown.

You think it was his ego, heart and pride keeping him up?

I've always been told that having strong legs help fighters take a punch, but the Sugar Man has incredibly skinny looking legs. They even look a little girly.

Basilio could punch. He was one of only two fighters to drop cement-chinned Kid Gavilan in 140+ fights and it was no flash knockdown. He had Gavilan wobbly. As for Robinson he was one of the toughest fighters who ever stepped in the ring.

Am sure Basilio would of even punched harder, had he not had hand trouble throughout his career.
