LE chateau de Ferrière is 60 km far from Chantilly. Il was the estate of the Baron James de Rothschild too ... but not the same as Baron James de Rothschild who lived in Gouvieux 0 km from Chantilly. There are a lot of Baron de rothschild in France, England ... i know that it is difficult

Chantilly and Gouvieux are neighboor. When you leave Chantilly you are in Gouvieux.

seeing that the baron purchsed it 1878 its viable that it was the property for the fight and with the distance from chantilly i guess it makes more sense.

        Hi everybody,

i read all the thing that some of you send to me () and i read newspaper of 1888 and i found that the fight took place not in chantilly, not in Gouvieux but in Apremont, a very little town far 3 km from Chantilly.

I found it in the newspaper of april 1888 "the Star"

        p://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast?a=d&d=TS18880425.2.36&l=mi&e=-------10--1----0--

and i have the confirmation in a french newspaper of march 13, 1888.

Maybe it's a detail, but for me it's important.

        regards
