Need some Mike Tyson information, life/career.

Couple questions that could possibly end up as part of a topic in a research paper I'll have to write.

    1. Why and when did Tyson get rid of Rooney?

    2. Wasn't Tyson also working with Teddy Atlas, when was that?

    3. What crimes has Tyson really committed besides ear biting and beating up Mitch Green?

    4. What was the starting event of Mike's "corruption?"

I will try to answer your questions as well as I can.
Kevin Rooney was let go because he was a link to Mike's former management that don king wanted to replace. He was let go after the spink's fight.

Teddy Atlas was let go prior to mike turning pro over a dispute that mike messed around with ted's young niece.

Mike was convicted of ***ual assault of a beauty pageant contestant and also assaulted a motorist over a traffic dispute.

There are several good book's on mike but most were written prior to his downfall.

I hope you are in grade school, not college. Going on an internet message board is not research.

"They can't put anything on the internet if it isn't true."

      "Where'd you hear that?"

      "The internet."

Also, your questions seem to hold some conceptions based on bias: Tyson was a hardened criminal as a youth, so if you are implying he became 'corrupted' at some point later that would be, at best, open to debate; and if you didn't know Tyson was convicted of **** then you probably should pick another topic.

I'm unsure of a few of these.

        1. Not sure, probably just his mental state.

        2. I believe once he got tatted and went bald.

        3. He was arrested 38 times before he was 13. Theft, fighting etc.

        4. Could be a few things, people in his ear, his arrest, the loss of his mentor and father.

          1) Yes Rooney was sacked after Spinks. There had been issues between Mike and Rooney.....and the sacking was only thought initially to be a temporary punishment for Rooney. But he was never re-hired.

          2) Teddy Atlas trained Tyson when he was an amateur. Teddy fell out with Mike over a rumour that Mike had some ***ual involvement with an underage relative of Teddy's. I believe that it is well documented that Atlas took a gun to the head of Mike.

          3) Besides ear biting and the streetfight with Green; Tyson had a string of juvenile offenses.....armed robbery and the like. But since 1995 he has also been in trouble for drugs offenses (*******), an assault on Don King, a road rage incident.

          4) As for Mike's corruption. Err, a good start would be when the neighbourhood bully pulled off the head of Mike's pigeon when Mike was very young. Until then he was known as the 'little fairy boy' with the lisp who said next to nothing. But lets be honest he was born into a very tough neighbourhood in awkward family circumstances too. After Mike had beaten up the bully and thoroughly enjoyed it he became corrupted by gang life. If anything, boxing did help in his teens. But in the late 80s onwards Don King was no help..........nor Mike's drug and alcohol abuse.

If I remember right, King, Robin and her mom got together on the removal of Rooney.

When Mike was trained by Cus, Teddy was the physical trainer as to pads and any other physical activity that Cus wasn't able to perform because of his age! Teddy handled Mike all through his amatuer career and the story of Mike messing up with Teddys family members is true! The gun part too!
Teddy wasn't fired he wanted something done about the action and Cus didn't respond so Teddy left. Teddy got the best out of mike not Kevin, Kevin had a formular he followed that was developed by Cus & Teddy!

Rooney gets alot of credit as a trainer but truth be told Teddy & Cus had a much better influence on Tyson as a fighter. The speed and accuracy lessons Tyson had were from Teddy and his agressiveness was channeled very nicely! By the time King was in everything was shot to hell. I think they hired Giachetti for a while but thats a horrible match up for Tyson, that guy was in slow motion compared to the way Tyson was taught! Ray.

Teddy trained kevin rooney when he was a boxer himself. tyson was fine without him though, rooney had enough knowledge by the time Cus passed to make Tyson what everyone believed he would become.

Very different dynamics when Teddy was gone, alot of the structure and work ethics left too! I know personally what went on, I handled Tyson with Teddy when he was on the Region One team I was the Region One coach!
Teddy is an intense character and he could get everything out of Mike and that was best for Tyson then and would have been best throughout his career!
All thoughs personality group together would have had plenty of bumps no matter who was in charge. When you have a ****** kid with millions $$$$$ at 21 years old theres going to be "bumps"! HA!!! Ray

Their main objective was to get rid of Bill Cayton. Rooney, being part of Cayton's crew, was more of a case of collateral damage.
