How would pinklon thomas do in today's hw era

assuming he was at his prime. your thoughts please

I'd fancy a prime Pink over the Klits, the way they are now..
He was good enough to be totally evaded by Larry Holmes.
Larry gave the game away, when he described Thomas as having a left jab that was equal to his own.. Thomas had drug problems though.. Held him back when he was younger, and caught up with him when he was older.. Short prime, but always in the top5 while it lasted.

Thomas was quite something before ******* and the Berbick and Tyson fights.....and yes, taking his relatively short prime he probably would be serious competition for the Klitschkos.

But there were many other 80s champions/contenders who were terrific for a very short time but inconsistent or had drug issues.

      Witherspoon
      Weaver
      Douglas
      Page
      Tate
      Tucker

        And the list goes on......

Wonder what it was about the 80's, and the drugged up hw division.

Maybe DK was serving up on the side lol

All of those fighters have one thing in common which explains why they had these problems. Not surprising at all. They were scum who wasted their careers with amoral behavior. Nobody should celebrate them for that.

Mr Dk committed every other crime in book so why not trafficking I imagine it would have made these poor soul's easier to manipulate.

Pink was a likeable fellow who had his shots at the top tier guys after defeating Ratcliff and Witherspoon and Weaver a few other guys he needed to beat!
It didn't work out for him against the top tier guys of that era for whatever reasons.
He was a good boxer who had a good punch and a very good jab. He had some mobility and I don't remember him coming out of the amatuers!
Today he would be a top ten heavy and would certainly be the favorite in most cases!

Wlad would completely beat the sh it out of him. All others would depend on his state that he and his opponent showed up in. Prime Vitali would beat him. Haye would be closer to pick em.

If Pinklon was in his prime now he would be a top contender for a long time. I would give him a good chance against either champion now.
