I noticed fights are stopped sooner and sooner. Sure especially in the uk but it is happening everywhere.

      OH THEY MIGHT GET HURT!!!!

Then why not stop it before it even begins! It is boxing damn it! People might get hurt. They know this before they enter the ring. People get hurt auto racing and people get hurt riding in the rodeo. The don't stop the rodeo before it starts because "people might get hurt". Because the athletes know what they are doing! Let them compete, it is their right!!!

The one that destroyed me when I was kid was Leonard vs Hearns 1.

At the time I hated Leonard and Hearns was my favorite active fighter.

Hearns was still on his feet and still able to fight, he was a little gassed but right before the referee stopped the fight Hearns was still throwing back and the ref really did not take a good look at him he just pulled Leonard away and waved it off.

In a fight of that magnitude the referee should of been vilified for deciding the winner instead of letting the fighters decide who was best that night.

Still to IMO the worst stoppage I have seen.

          Wasn't Leonard/Howard pretty bad?

i was totally going to say calzaghe-manfredo and scott-chisora

lewis-mccall is a tough one,, when i first watched it i thought it was alittle premature, but after viewing it again, i think the ref made the right call, lights were on, but no one was home for lennox. Kinda reminds me of tarver-jones 2. I thought roy made it up and beat the count, but after rewatching it, its clear he was not all there and didnt have his legs

Always felt rahman got a raw deal in that fight and the rematch with the draw

Rahman should have won each IMO
Yeah that's the one. Hasim was getting decked but the ref stopped it before any major damage was done to call an end to it.

yeah rahman got a raw deal, thats why i never rated tua very high,, he had all the tools to be a great force in the heavy division, but everytime he stepped up he struggled ie rahman twice, lewis, bryd, ike

youre damned if you do damned if you dont... i think in the froch groves fight the standing 8 count should be use or in effect, though its seldom if ever used

I don't think it was bad. Leonard was pounding him.

i always thought it could have gone on alittle longer,, I dont think it was premature stoppage, just an anti-climactic one,, SRL bombed on him against the ropes and hearns was helpless, then there was a small break in the action, and then the ref waved it off, very slowly,,, Just the timing of the thing was very strange to me, like the ref was in slow-motion or something
