Duff has been involved with 16 world champions and many world class British fighters, including: Jim Watt, Alan Minter, Lloyd Honeyghan, John Conteh, Terry Downes, and Howard Winstone. He has also worked with champions Maurice Hope, John "The Beast" Mugabi and Cornelius Boza Edwards.

Nice tributes on another board...including some ancedotes from Duff about how tough the boxing business was and some dark humour about his ***ish heritage.

I remember him as the sharp, avuncular figure who masterminded Lloyd's Honeyghan's win over Curry in Atlantic City. Ok, so Lloyd did the punching but Duff seems to have got Honeyghan clean under King's radar and had faith in his guy being the right man at the right time to create a shock. A perfect piece of matchmaking.

Off course, Duff goes way back and seems to have been involved with guys like Terry Downes and I guess he must have pulled a few strokes along the way because boxing was a tough business then...especially for an Eastender of immigrant stock.

I am buying his book 'Twenty and Out' which is apparently very good. Lots of stories about Mickey having to chaperone Sonny Liston whilst he was in London......

I remember him mainly from Honeyghan fights. Colorful character, may he rest in peace.
