Im not trolling I want to know the answer genuinely.

The way I see it Jack Dempsey has better power mechanics than mike tyson george foreman or lennox lewis, he may not hit as hard but his technique for generating power is superior and more advanced.

I suspect dempsey was the exception and that for the most part olden day boxers had inferior mechanics but I dont know for sure.

      Do you?
Absolutely. The only advantage the modern era has is advanced sports medicine and a deeper understanding of nutrition, but the actual knowledge of the sport is now much diluted, and the average fighter back then was more versed in fight mechanics such as forms and styles of defense, a larger combination repertoire, and the advantage of having a more rich training environment from the gym personnel to the sparring talent. Not to mention, back then fighters were more conditioned, which really speaks ill of fighters today, with the advantage of modern medicine, that some fighters can't make it 12 rounds let alone 15, is pathetic. Be a professional for goodness sakes.
