    Where does Ali rank P4P?

I've seen people rank Ali in the top 5 P4P, and I have to ask why. Is it because of his resume? Because, he got away with a lot of fundamental mistakes due to his speed, especially for a HW.

He doesn't rank lb for lb at all, not even in the top 1000.

NO HW like Ali can in reality and this is no individual attack on Ali either. The same holds true for actual good boxers too like Wlad and Lennox.

If you'll just set aside the nut bag agenda for a moment I will explain why..

Muhammad Ali like most other HW's achieved their records by beating up guys smaller than themselves. Ali out-talled nearly all of his opponents and out-weighed 70% of them.

Before we even consider how bummy his opposition was you can see from the above that p4p can't apply to any obligate HW (or what was THEN called a HW)

The only HW boxers who can be considered p4p are former champion cruisers and LHW's who then stepped up to HW and achieved greatness through fighting guys their own size.

Ali is probably in the top 10 all time P4P. The translations for weight to weight are difficult when considering heavyweights. I feel much more comfortable with Ali's position atop the heap of all time heavies than with his P4P position. Dempsey would have had a chance of beating him. Most other heavies stand very little chance of beating this tiny heavyweight at 6' 3 & 1/2" and 217 lbs. Everybody knows that guys at 217 cannot hurt men of 250 lbs., especially modern men of that weight, who have thicker chins.
