Sapp vs Carnera (Muscle Elephant Tourney)

Bob Sapp was one of the hugest muscle elephants ever to step into any kind of fighting arena. But after half a round of fighting he was gassed for the night.

Could Carnera, who was less serious about fighting, hold the mountain off long enough to gas him? Skillwise, they are both galoot level, with Sapp perhaps knowing even less than Primo.

Who would win this battle of muscle elephant galoots?

In a boxing match, Carnera. If you're talking kickboxing, Sapp might have a shot.

By God, Tony, I thought this thread would draw 'em like flies to a turd. I don't think they've sniifed it yet. Once they get a whiff, they will be here. Build it, they will come.

I think Carnera would only have to last part of a round before the clueless Sapp was gassed for the night. Primo had pretty reasonable stamina for a muscle elephant.

But I am sure Sapp hit hard enough to put him to sleep, with all those 'roids working overtime, if he could just land one. One punch will have to do the complete trick, though, because the effort of a single mighty punch will certainly gas Mr. Sapp.

Yeah, plus Sapp fought in Pride MMA and K-1 for kickboxing as well and a lot of those guys were known to be roided to the gills. Not much technique to Sapp either, so probably favors Primo, even in MMA, since Primo also spent some time as a wrestler.

Intersting. Primo even favored in MMA over SAPP. That thought never entered my mind. Forgot Primo was a wrestler too.

I looked it up and my, Carnera seemed to be able to do some keylocks and other submission moves. Sounds like he was way ahead of his time, like he was an MMA fighter. Yeah Sapp's got no shot at all to win this.

Yeah, back when he worked, a lot of the matches were shoots, which is what they call real competition as opposed to works, which are choreographed and have scripted endings. Today, shoots are virtually nil overall, except in the amateurs or in competition not seen on TV these days.

How about Primo Carnera vs. Butterbean in a 4 rounder?
