    Which Fighters Are Overhated?

    - -Who of the great villains in boxing gets overhated?

    Some names pop out easily to work Fans into a froth.

    Panama Lewis and Luis Resto tag team.
    Primo Carnera
    Nikolai Valuev
    Al Haymon
    Bob Arum
    Don King

    Back in the day John L and JJOHNSON certain got the fans frothing.

    Maybe Gerry Cooney for the Holmes fight thanks to King great white hope promotion that roused the FBI enough to post snipers on rooftops just in case.

    Little guys don't seem to make big enough targets to explode fan bile. Resto the best I could come up with.

      the most popular guys are winners and esp winners that can punch (and esp if they are white since thats the largest target audience probably and its less common?), then freaky punchers that dont tend to win (my personal favs)


      Boring fighters esp if they cant punch are not well received

        Mayweather somehow manages to make everyone hate him. Despite being a winner. He somehow is stuck in the temperament of a hard done by low self esteem loser when hes a high status winner, its strange

        Tyson manages to make everyone love him, even the racists love Tyson, and despite **** charges xDDDD (the **** charges somehow enhance his likability)

              Edwin Valero was widely hated due to his out of the ring antics but the dude could rock and roll come ring time. I always wondered how far he could have gone had his antics not created his downfall.
