Tunney did not even have enough of a career to be the most complete fighter. It takes a complete resume as well. Tunney did not have that. He fought a declined Dempsey and a smaller Greb.

Rusty really knows nothing at all. He can't see anything in Sanchez. What a consistent churl.

Most complete for me is Mayweather. Ring IQ, jab, left hook, straight right, defence, cat like reflexes, first class instincts, head movement, body movement.ability to adapt, adjust immediately.I believe he had it all..only problem was bad hands as he moved up weight classes so had to lessen power shots.. n

Robinson got hit way too much to be the most complete fighter ever. He was a great fighter, and maybe the greatest fighter ever overall, but that does not make him the most COMPLETE boxer at all. He is not even close to that. It was a mediocre ring general who over exerted himself against the mediocre Maxim and lost as a result.

Now come back with how hot it was that night. Duh!
Robinson got hit a lot out of his prime***

There are no tapes of robinson in his prime. The tape of him being years past his prime was incredible so one can imagine him in his prime. Roy jones was unhittable in his prime and very hittable out of it.

Marvin Hagler deserves a mention. He could even fight in both stances effectively.

Tunney had one hell of a career. Nearly 70 bouts with only one loss and that lone loss to a Top 2 ATG p4p champion. Heavyweight champion of the world beating an ATG and in process proved his ATG toughness.

And that is what you are doing, son--imagining. Yes, there are tapes of Robinson in his prime. Learn something before you try to argue with me. I **** heads together around here. Yours will be next.

Yes, a hell of a career. He did a great job of dodging black fighters--hell of a career. Only problem is, he missed most of the great fighters of his era. What a career!

I hear ya, but in the Maxim fight what was the temperature that night. Where the ref had to be replaced because of the heat. And that's just the referee walking around, keeping it clean. Could you imagine having to fight in those temperatures? Those were the temperatures that James had to have it up in Galaxy. Extreme heat!

                    That fight? ……..Rockin'

                      He challenged Wills. Wills declined.

Tunney’s level of prejudice was not uncommon for that time period.

Tunney was the greatest technical boxer in heavyweight championship history.
