My momma tried the nutrisystem,I'm not sure what kind of results she got. But I can tell you that the food is not bad. Some of it is actually pretty tASTY. And all of it has a decent amount of protein.

I'd say try it out and see what happens and let us know.

Yo, "SPEED", one question. You trying to go UP or DOWN from 179lbs? What I can tell you from Nutrisystem is that it's based on a high "complex carbohydrate" intake, with fewer calories. In other words, it is ideal for someone trying to reduce thier body weight; fat. It's eating healthy.

Now, one thing you gotta keep in mind is (if you're trying to come down) that your body "DOES NOT" start to burn off calories till "AFTER" you've used up your energy stored. Once the body has gone through at least 1/2 hour to 40 minutes of strenuous activity, then will it turn to it's stored "complex carbs", burning off the fat, calories. In other words, do your road work, skip rope, etc, "AFTER" you've hit the heavy bag, sparred, push-ups, sit ups, etc.

What you eat has alot to do with it too. Bro, it may taste nasty, but add g****fruit juice to your liquid intake.

I believe it would work...but you have to do it exactly the way they tell you. I wouldm't snack unless they said it was ok...or eat different meals other than the ones they have planned for you. I believe it would work alright. If you can, I would start with the lowest meal plan they have to offer and see how you like it. You can always order more.

No disrespect, 'cause you're barking up the right tree, but your post is a little off.

The sugar in your system is actually depleted rather quickly, back in my X-Country days, a good 8km run was only 30 min, but even still they'd send us out with some gummy bears in our hands to replenish our simple carbs. Also, you're always burning up calories, I am typing this right now, it's where those calories are coming from; muscle, fat, glycogen, glucose, that makes the difference. You actually revert to 'complex carbs' (glycogen) pretty quick, once that runs low, you start to use up muscle and fat (more). Basically, long ass activity is required to lose fat, and be prepared to lose some muscle too if you're looking to really go down in weight.

Do your roadwork in the morning, before you eat. That's when you're already low on blood glucose and probably even stored glycogen, so you'll start to use up fat more quickly. Wait 30 min after your run (I donno shower or something in the mean time) THEN eat breakfast. If you're really concerned about losing muscle, then try to pack in a lot of protein with breakfast, but like I said, you are going to lose muscle, that's just the way it is, in fact many people break down muscle preferentialy to fat, and the more muscle you have, the more your body will favour its breakdown.

Also, there's nothing really too special about g****fuit juice, in fact, it's sugar like everything else... That being said, the sugar in g****fuit juice (and bananas, and some other fruits) actually doesn't get metabolized to well in the body, so it's not like drinking a coke or something... And it is of course a good source of nutrients (but nothing you can't get elsewhere). Though if you wanna jump on the anti-oxidant bandwagon, there are plenty of those in there...

              Just addn' my two cents...
