    MMA training :greddy2:

been boxing scene i was 16 off and on tell 21 now. have no mma experience.
joined a gym closer to my house LA boxing thats mostly mma stuff. they had a class called fight clase. and i thought it would be a good opportunity to learn mma hands on.(fight clase is nothing but sparring stand up ground ex.) i tell you what i did 10 or 11 round straight of nothing but sparring 4 or 5 stand up tuke some leg kicks and 3 clean head kicks. man i have to get used to blocking that ****(good thing i have a pretty good chin they would be like are you alright id say yep and cont.) they said i had very good hands. then the ground game 5 or 6 cant remember( this is all 3 min rounds 30 sec brake for a total of 10or11 rounds ground/ stand up) and i was doing good on my own fighting instincts against the lower belt jujitsu until i had to do some ground work with a ifl guy in black belt jujitsu . man he put min in a sub every freaken time. all in all they said i did very good for my first time on the ground and feet. my stamina was great to outlasting alot of the other people that were sparring( actually there was about 10 or 11 of us and i was one of the last ones down there doing stuff for some extra rounds.

i have mad respect for mma and will cont. to learn in that sport. as i think that i will have a better chance in mma than i would boxing becoming a great pro.

both mma(very little ex.1st time) and boxing are both equally great sports in my opinion

    thanks for reading

Too right, mate. Both sports are great fun and they can compliment each other well in terms of training.

what is your combo of mma? i mean, anything besides adding boxing.

because just training jj or bjj isn't mma. mma is the combined sport art usually consisting of groundwork(jj/bjj, and wrestling/submission wrestling) combined with a striking art(boxing, muay thai, kickboxing, etc.)

My MMA school essentially teaches muay thai, brazilian ju jitsu and sambo wrestling. I've been going on and off for about two years. The training is fun and keeps me alert, but i must admit i prefer straight up stand up fighting. Also i don't know if anyone else has found this at their school, but we tend to emphasise groundfighting and takedowns more than striking.

            i would say

i would say 60% take downs ext 40% strikes at my gym. when we spar its pretty even 5 or so stand up and 5 or so ground and pound ext.

I've been ****ing my head again't the wall tryint to get this very point across. Along with my opinion that one who wants to be good needs to learn each art in depth and then learn to put them together before competing. I think you take away the effectiveness of each art as you jumble them all up and don't give them the proper attention.
