    Protein Supplements Good or Bad?

I got some protein the other day to try out. Im confused as to when to take it. People have told me before and after workouts but then others have said just after so I have no clue. What should I expect from this supplement? If I dont burn it all off wont I just build fat?

I found it best to have a small snack before a workout and a protein shake after it. You wanna make sure you get 1g of protein for every lb you weigh. Its hard to get fat from protein powder because most of these shakes are like 200calories at most the only reason you would get fat is if you had like 8 shakes a day ate alot and didnt train.

I agree. I usually have a snack before training, something with complex carbs for energy, and then have the protein after I train. I have also read to have the protein before bed because a lot of the muscle building that occurs after training occurs in your sleep.

Protein isnt the the only thing that builds muscle. You still also need fats and carbohydrates. Eating properly and resistance training will add mass

when he sais 1 gram of protein for every pound, hes sayin daily, and you have to split it to either 5-6 meals a day at 2-3 hour spacings, or 4 meals at 3 hours spacing, but do not exceed 50grams of protein per 2 hours (as the body can only process 50 gram per 2 hours).

Also, you dont need protein shake for 90% of meals, if u can add up the protein in clean foods such as tuna, chicken etc, then its alright. But the only time you should take a shake is after a workout, and take it with water so it targets the muscle quicker because the body processes it the fastest with water. You can also take a protein shake if u forgot a meal, but remember to put a couple scoops of oats in it and have it with milk or watever, but if your eatin right and not missing meals then you wont need to worry about that.

You only need 1 gram per pound of protien to maintain your muscle mass, if you want to get gain muscle up your protien intake up to 50%-100% more than your body weight, and protien will not turn into fat as long as your working out

If im going to take creatine should I take it at the same time as protien? If im doing two scoops now after I work out thats not enough to increase, right? At 145 how many scoops would I want to increase and at what times?
