OK, I'm in an unusual situation. This semester at school I'm in charge of the boxing club. I really want a ring, but the school won't allow a permanent ring in our practice space because it is used by other organizations. Any ideas on a portable ring or something that could be set up each practice? It doesn't have to be pretty, its only used for sparring.

yeah, that's tough you don't have a ring, man. it's really a different feel sparring and doing drills in the ring. we have a floor ring, but even that's not something you want to set up and break down everyday. is there another place you guys can work out?
what about hooking the club up with a local boxing gym instead? you said you eventually wanted to take the club to an intercollegiate level so that would be sick if you guys could do that. bus the club into hartford twice a week, and keep your current gym slot for conditioning.

It would be new to me... if you found a portable ring that'd be hot.. I'll check back to see if this develops because then i'd have to look into it.
(and I mean portable as in doesn't take more than 30 mins to set-up... i know all are portable... just one that doesn't take about 10 people to do....with those huge bars and the floor stabalizer and the huge posts.)

My gym is a PCYC so the area is pretty much a insidebasketball court
But what we have set up is the ring in the corner. because you can have 3 posts ( our gym just has brackets ) attached the the wall which stops them from being in the way! like this

o
and then what happens is theres this like post thing which you can take in and out of the ground because of a metal device in the floor and this acts as the 4th post
and then you just drag the ropes over and attach it to the 4th post and! you have a ring
also it only takes about 5 min to set up. if that
You should look into it
