    Feelings Before a Fight

    I hate this part. I leave in an hour. I've done some pushups and some chins, stretched out, had a nice light late lunch -- vegetables and brown rice. I'm solid at 165 exactly, feeling great, actually. I've been grinding my jaw a lot, though.

    This is my third fight; usually I've hurled from nerves by now. The day's still young, though. I've got three and a half hours until the bell rings.

    My only saving thought is that the feeling after the fight is so intensely awesome, that it makes all the ****ty parts leading up to the fight pale by comparison.

    Anybody else wanna chime in on pre-fight thoughts or jitters?

    For my first 4 fights i can remember i could never get any sleep the night before, i just felt awake with nervous energy, i guess, that was when i was 16 - 17. Just before the fight happened, i experienced a mixture of emotions: nervousness, alertness, want to hit things/people, sometimes got a bit dizzy. For my last few fights (aged 21-22) I felt pretty calm, relaxed and ready.

    P.S. I've had 12 AM bouts all in the UK and im currently 24. Also i was always a bit more on edge when doing boxing in contrast to martial arts tournaments, anyone else find this?.

                    Havent had my first fight yet but I cant wait for it.
