Boxer died at the gloves this year here

It was 3 fights before my fight... dude backed into a corner and stopped fightin in the 3rd round i guess he was too fatigued to continue... (i didnt see that part cuz i was warming up, i jus hard a huge uproar so i went to see what was goin on and i seen dude standin n the corner) so they stopped the fight, i didnt think nothin of it... so now its 1 fight before my fight.. and im all ready to go, and then they stopped the fights.. cuz the dr. had left to check on that guy.... then word started to spread that dude died... minutes later they stopped the tournament completely sayin that guy was bein rushed to hospital... and did a prayer and said the fights would be canceled for the rest of the night and will pick up tomorrow..... crazy shii... sum ppl were sayin he went 3 days without eating to lose weight, and was dehydrated come fight night.... but here's the article..

the next day felt kinda weird... knowin someone had jus died in the ring the night before...

That stuff happens unfortunatley ... it happend to a bloke the same night i was fighting and the guy barely got hit the whole 3 rounds but he collapsed 10 minutes after and put in a coma.. Thank GOD he survived. Tha doctors say them accidents occur once or twice a year here in Australia not just from boxing.

**** man. At age 30 and going into Golden Gloves you can kinda see why he did it. But, **** to do that to yourself to make weight for a bout is insane. I posted a thread about a month back where I was asked to lose a lot of weight in a few days for my debut bout.

Decided against it and fought at my normal weight a week later.

        R.I.P.

When you drain yourself of water, it takes some of the water that surrounds the brain in your skull. This takes away some of the natural cushion within your head and causes more damage.

You'll often find fighters who've suffered haemorrages, blood clots or other brain damage in fights have often had to cut alot of weight... examples being Michael Watson, McClellen...etc.
