    unorthdox styles?

does anyone here get coached under a different from the norm sort of style, like hands down, switch hitting, left hand down etc....and how does this work for you?

mine is pretty orthodox, hands up at cheekbones, elbows tight, plenty of movement around the ring and mainly straight punches, when defending i either absorb punches on my guard, slip or parry and counter, i mix it up with hooks and uppercuts in close but from long range i prefer straight shots. decent speed, good **** for my size...just solid i guess

i keep hearing from people about how unorthdox styles just get you KTFO in the end, i'd like to hear from someone who gets coached in an unorthdox style like how brendan ingle trains his guys........

never understand 'unothrodox', my hands are usually quite high but sometimes i drop them when punching (gotta learn) but people tell me i got a rather unothrodox style? and if i keep at it, people will be confused by my style and won't know what i'm about to do?

I always thought it meant an unpredictable style...

unorthodox styling has a rhythm once you tune in his rhythm and figure him out you could finish him off.

But the hard type of fighters is the one who change there rhythm

No coach in their right mind would train a fighter to fight like Hamed.

It amazes me how his trainer let him fight like that. And helped him fight that way.

naseem had the reflexes and attributes to do it

naseem started to decline after he split with Ingle emanuel steward started teaching him combos, keeping his hands up etc...it just didnt work for him

unless you are really good, it could cause problems. That gym are actually quite good and they do have alot of decent pro's and am's. At same time they do also get alot of people who get clocked and taken out. Maybe they were just saving them some time?

I would not do it unless you have coach like Brendan Ingle who is well versed in the bollox of it and who can help you in the corner. If they don't understand it, they won;t give right advice.

I hate unorthodox fighters, they're hard to watch and I don't think unorthodox styles work for most people. Look at Billy Dib for example, he fights very unorthodox and his style is crap. Best to stick to the basic.

i love watching unorthodox guys, its bloody entertaining

billy dib is a bad example, he gets hit heaps and is basically a poor mans naseem

man he got a ****ing gift on wednesday night, it was disgraceful, he lost the bloody fight fair and square...

he will get KTFO by linares or any other good featherweight
